This wedding was very dear to us! They are our close friends!!
Luke and Dana’s farmcharm wedding took place on an unexpectedly beautiful mid October evening. The whole weekend had called for rain but a little bit of much needed luck found them that day. Dana and Luke were hit with a few challenges planning their dream wedding. In the end though, they’re day could not have been more perfect.
Luke and Dana were getting ready at a pretty farmhouse air-bnb with their bridal party and their three children. For Luke and Dana this day was a long time coming and something they’ve been looking forward to but for their kids is was something more. Dana wanted to make this day not only special for her and Luke but for their kids as well, so she incorporated them as much as possible.
Dana had told us she wanted to do a first look with Luke so we set him up outside in a small field surrounded by beautiful fall colors. We had Dana tap his shoulder and he turned to look at her. It was kind of like he was in shock. She looked so stunning in her strapless ballgown dress. It fit her PERFECT and Luke was a bit stunned. He told her how beautiful she looked and they hugged and talked for a bit. Then it was time for their kids to see their gorgeous mom. They walked out to her and they all hugged. Their oldest daughter, Oakley showed some interest in photography so we let her use one of our film cameras for the rest of the day! That way Luke and Dana could see photos from her point of view.
We then headed to their friend’s large, red barn to have the reception and ceremony (yes, in that order!). The couple thought about how great it would be to have a night ceremony and so they decided to have their dinner and reception first, then have the ceremony. We loved this unique idea!
So we started with cocktail hour and a popcorn bar for the guests while Luke and Dana had some fun portraits done on a scenic old dirt road by the barn. After that dinner was served. Dinner was catered by Tudor Catering and was absolutely delicious! Shortly after dinner the couple cut their cake catered by Ryke’s Bakery. Then after a bit of mingling it was time for their 8:30 ceremony. The bridal party made their way down the aisle as Luke patiently waited for his bride. As he saw her his eyes lit up. This is something we look for when we photograph our couples; the spark. And these two definitely have it! The ceremony was officiated by their friend, Callie who did an amazing job. You could tell he’d done this before! The ceremony was held inside the barn under a pretty arbor with twinkly lights and a few candles at the base. It was definitely giving off moody, farmhouse romance. Shortly after the ceremony Luke and Dana were joined by their three children to partake in an adorable sand ceremony.
The couple then headed to the dance floor to share their first dance together. As they danced you could see the love and comfort they have for one another. Then, their two younger kids, Liam and Paisley made their way to the dance floor. They finally got to show off their dance that they’d been practicing for for the past two years. It was so adorable and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the whole place!
Luke and Dana your wedding was an absolute dream. So much love and laughter! It was a joy to be apart of your wedding and we wouldn’t of had it any other way!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pranskaitis!!!!!
