September Wedding Holland, Michigan | Cathy & Tim

Cathy and Tim were married on a perfect September Saturday at the Overisel Emporium in Holland, Michigan. Their day was so special and unique!

We arrived at the venue and began taking photos of the couple’s details. The bridal suite was in the lower level of the building. The decor felt so quaint and homey with a touch of elegance. There were couches and mirrors everywhere and a pretty fireplace. We decided to use the mantel of the fireplace to display all of the couples details and man, was it beautiful! We took Cathy and her mom up to the balcony above the reception area to get ready. Cathy’s dress was stunning on her and it fit PERFECT! Shout out to Morilee by Madeline Gardner for the amazing dress! Her makeup and hair were beautifully done thanks to Stylist Kali. Tim looked great as well! He wore a light gray suit with a light green tie from Men’s Wearhouse.

Cathy wanted to do a first look with her father and husband to be so we started with her father. We set him up in the entryway of the venue and had Cathy walk up behind him. He turned to look at her and was in awe of his beautiful daughter! They hugged and shared a few moments together. Next was Tim’s turn! We set him up under the arch which was covered in beautiful sunflowers, large burgundy flowers, small blue flowers, and lots of greenery. Wyoming Stuyvesant Floral did an amazing job! Cathy walked down the aisle to tap Tim on his shoulder and when he turned he had the biggest smile on his face. He grabbed her and they embraced! He couldn’t keep his hands of his truly stunning bride! They then both read their vows to each other. They were unique to each other and beautifully written.

After their first look we went to VanRaalte Farm Park near the venue for their bridal portraits. This place was beautiful and one of the first houses built in the Holland area. The grounds featured an old barn, a pretty farmhouse, and a nice wooded area. This gave us lots of options for our couple. My favorite was the beautifully restored wraparound porch on the farmhouse.

After that it was time to get married! The ceremony was sweet and officiated by one of Cathy’s best friends. She did a great job! Cocktail hour started and we look lots of fun candid photos of the guests and the newly married couple having fun. Dinner was delicious! The Trestle Stop served baked chicken, beef roast, cheesy potatoes, corn, and salad. The couple then cut their cake made by Sugar Rush Sweets and offered their guests yummy cupcakes! The DJ (Pillar Music Service) then announced the couple would be playing the “shoelywed game” the couple sat facing away from each other and the DJ asked “which one is more likely to” questions and they would either hold up their shoe or their partners shoe. It was so fun and not something we see very often. The couple then shared their first dance. The sun was starting to set so we took our couple to a wildflower field and some railroad tracks that Tim had suggested we check out. It was absolutely gorgeous! The sunset was like it was from a fairytale. Truly unforgettable, just like Cathy and Tim’s amazing wedding day!

Congratulations Cathy and Tim! Your day will not be forgotten by us anytime soon! We wish you guys nothing but the best!
