Toni and Michael were married at the always beautiful Ivy House in Saugatuck, Michigan this past Sunday.
We started our day by greeting Toni who was with her family and bridesmaids in the bridal suite to gather her details and take photos of her amazing dress. Her dress was stunning! It was a beaded scoop neck bodice with a ballgown satin skirt. She looked absolutely stunning in it! Her bridesmaids wore pretty green dresses that were all slightly different styles. We then gathered Michaels details. He wore a black suite with a dark green tie as did his groomsmen.
We then did the getting ready photos with Toni and her bridesmaids before they got dressed up for the big day. We set up the girls outside on the couch on the back patio. We posed the girls a few different ways on the couch. They were all so cute together! Then, Toni brought some champagne so I thought it would be a good idea to pop that baby open with her and her girls! Toni had never opened a bottle of champagne before, so she was a little nervous. Her maid of honor prepared the bottle for her, and we lined the girls up and said okay go ahead! Toni struggled for a little while to get the bottle open so one of her bridesmaids helped loosen the cork and gave it back to her. She struggled a little bit longer but then finally popped it! Everyone had a good laugh and the moment made for great photos!
Toni requested a first look with her bridesmaids, her father, and husband to be. For the bridesmaids first look we set the girls up outside behind the bridal suite facing away from Toni. We then had Toni walk towards them and told the girls to turn around. They ran to her and hugged her. It was so special! For Toni’s first look with her father, we set dad up in the same place as her bridesmaids and gave dad Toni’s beautiful bouquet which was an assortment of white flowers and lots of greenery. He turned to look at his beautiful daughter and smiled. He handed her the bouquet and they laughed and hugged for a while. You could tell they have a playful relationship. So sweet. For Toni and Michael’s first look we set Michael up in the greenhouse where their ceremony would be held. We had Toni walk up behind him and tap his shoulder. He turned to look at her and they both smiled and embraced! So much love! These two are so incredibly cute together!
The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous in the greenhouse. They had large white fabric beautifully draped above them as they said their vows in front of their friends and family. The Pastor talked wonderfully about the couple. He shared inspiring scriptures and lessons to guide them in their future life together.
The reception was held inside the large reception room equipped with an amazing bar and incredibly high ceilings with large circular chandeliers. The dinner was catered by YoChef’s Catering. The food was great! They served champaign chicken, teriyaki vegetables and rice, mashed potatoes, manicotti, steamed broccoli, and mac and cheese. For dessert they had an array of cheesecakes and apple pie. So good!
Toni and Michael shared their first dance together, followed by the father daughter dance and the mother son dance. Each dance was unique to the pair and so special to photograph. The DJ from Dream Productions then opened the dance floor to the guests. The couple shared a few fun dances with their family and friends before we stole them to take just a few sunset photos on the patio under the pretty string lights.
Congratulations Toni and Michael! Your day was amazing and a joy to photograph! We wish you two an incredible marriage and a wonderful life together!
